Introduction Back in early April 2017, I completely ruptured my left achilles tendon playing ultimate frisbee. This was the first of many in my recreational sports career: my first major injury, my first surgery, my first time in a cast, and my first time on crutches. I went down with a sudden sharp pain and knew instantly that it was bad. It was pretty surreal reaching down to grab your ankle and feeling nothing where your achilles should be.

Introduction Blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies have come front and center as the market’s total market capitalization closes in on the $800 billion mark as writing this, growing over ~4300% since 2017 with much of the growth happening in recent months. With all the recent news on the subject, I thought it might be interesting to try to quantify the buzz against the cryptocurrency price data and how search interest may correlates with price swings.
